1) Hey, look, an actual answer to the "what was up with that suicidal girl and the guidance counselor in Terminator S1?" question: Well, the most obvious answer involves all the things that we dropped due to the strike in season one. Regarding #4...seriously, this is just getting odd. And I like rain.

I think it's OK to bring baked goods into the office. I've even been known to arrive with a box of rosebuds. ;)

Sending you good writing thoughts and big hugs.

Screw the being-respected-as-professional thing! Bake! (Okay, don't screw it. I like to think of it as a way of buttering up my co-workers when I bake for them.)

The underground mine supervisor at my former place of work came to the county museum one day to talk to one of us, and it was a day I was wearing nice trousers and a good blouse, and he said in surprise, "You clean up good." (No, not always the most tactful, but I'll forgive him.) It's nice to dress up once in a while because we don't have to do it every day, I think. And I so would not want to be wearing a suit this week when it's in the low 100s all the time. Blegh.

Oh maaaaaaaaaaan, how come I never thought of getting together with my friends to play Antonio Banderas?! I cannot believe I missed this boat.

Also: 126 w of fic! hooray! The very thought is pleasing also to me. I'm having collateral excitement by association. And crossovers rule.

Also: HI!!

HI! I am still mad at your city for being mean to you, by the way. You should be properly appreciated!

As a matter of fact, there was an article in the Globe today about how we are about to break the record for "gloomiest June", last set in 1904, so you know -- it's not just us being crazy.

Yeah, I have to admit, that almost made me root for it to stay gloomy through the end of June, just to make weather-tracker guy happy. But only almost.

I know, I know, in order to be respected as a professional woman I'm not supposed to bring baked goods to the office...

Uh oh. I too am guilty of this. but I think at least once or twice some of the males have brought in baked goods as well, possibly even made by themselves and not their wives/significant others.

Yeah, I don't know, I actually don't take it all that seriously as a rule, though I can at least see the argument being made that you don't necessarily want to make people think of you as a nurturer in some situations. But meh, whatever.

I am always amused by men who are all "but I didn't make it! My wife did! I'm hopeless in the kitchen!" Cookies are not difficult, dude.
