Thank you so much! That one kills me too, though I am fairly certain things work out fine for Claire and her relationships with her parents and Jack. (Among the three of them I'm less sure...)

But she found a smile for Jack somewhere, and told him, "Claire. Claire Nancy, for our mothers," not flinching a bit as she sat there with the shell of a man she loved beside her and two dead women in her arms. ... this absolutely slayed me. I think it's the most bittersweet one of all of them - but all five are just amazing.

I suspect that the three of them don't all stay in the same house in the end, at least not in that AU, but they do all end up a lot happier, at least. And Claire turns out to be kind of a jock. She would totally be a hockey player if they just left Nevada.
