Katie, this is so great, deep and layered and so much beneath the surface of Jack's exterior.

>"With the... oh! Right. Yeah. I'd forgotten about that, actually. Well, not the padded room and straitjacket part, obviously, that was memorable."<

Heh. Very Daniel.

>"Still not an answer, Daniel, and do not try to play dumb with me here, because I guarantee you I will win. I want to know if you care."<

Oh, Jack.

Thank you! I'm so glad it worked for you. I have a mortal terror of writing too much emotion, and so I never know whether my instincts are leading me astray when I write this sort of thing--should things be more on the surface, etc.

>"Still not an answer, Daniel, and do not try to play dumb with me here, because I guarantee you I will win. I want to know if you care."<

Oh, Jack.

That's my favorite line in the whole thing, I think.

Oh, joy! So much joy.

And I adore your Jack-voice in particular.

Yay! I'm glad it made you happy. I was... reasonably pleased with the Jack-voice, though this is after I removed a whole bunch of "you know"s so that he sounded a little less like, er, me. But that's what betas are for, right?

Yay! Thank you. I'm glad you liked it, and hey, I'm always happy to hear about the specific bits that worked, even if it makes the comment longer.

Their investment in the rules and the game, speaks so well to the need to be able to control something.

Yeah, I was worried that was too pointy, so I backed it down a little--less Daniel being all "but if you LISTENED to me you would know what the RULES were, SAM, and I am NOT AT ALL talking about anything else going on in our lives, AHEM." So I'm glad it worked for you as something other than the author whacking you over the head with Daniel's issues.

Good. :)

And the game was definitely not too pointy. The way they all responded fits so well with their personalities, that it flowed seamlessly into the current situation. Loved it.

It's always the quiet ones with the kinky three-way sex.

Lovely and lover-ly, both.

(I'm glad you liked it.)

Katie, sweetie, this is wonderful. The fact that most of it was written pre-Katrina just makes it all more poignant to me.

I really love the way you combined the apocafic and zombie theme. Love, love, love the awkwardness of the threesome and how Jack, Sam and Daniel manage to work it out.

I could go on and on but I have major blisters from gardening so I'm going to keep this short.

Oh but I also loved the idea of Shesar on the cruise ship. That was cool and eerie and somehow very appropriate. *g*

Thanks so much for sharing this. It was just what I needed after a hard days work, a long, thinky, sexy fic with a dollop of J/D. Perfect!

Oh, good, because a) OMG porn and b) I was kind of worried it went too smoothly. Though of course Jack and Sam and Sam and Daniel had had plenty of sex, which would help. But still, I felt kind of guilty that I was succumbing to the "and now... fantastic first-time sex!" thing too much.
