I don't feel the incoherency, the way I feel it with Lost. I don't know if that's because I watched all three seasons this season, or if I'm more invested in the BSG characters or what. I feel half stupid and half defensive when I see some dissections of plot points I swallowed whole.

Is Laura a Cylon? Is Starbuck? If the Cylons only know the current-seven Cylons, how come Shannon/Boomer/Athena is Model #8?

And yes, will they please get Caprica 6 a sweater or something?!?

The series of questions that begins with "Is Laura a Cylon" are my own questions (that is, I'm trying to distinguish between my own questions and the plot points I see other people questioning and I'm doing that thing in which I over explain, so I'll just shut up, now).

Oh, I hate that. It may well be that watching it all in a gulp would feel different. The more time you have to build up expectations, the easier it is to feel let down when the story doesn't behave in the way you expected/hoped for.

If the Cylons only know the current-seven Cylons, how come Shannon/Boomer/Athena is Model #8?

Because the whole "final five" thing wasn't come up with until this season, I assume. But eh, that kind of thing doesn't bother me much.

I think Starbuck makes the most sense as the last Cylon at this point, though that probably means I'm wrong. I don't like the idea of Laura at all--I like her connection to Athena and Caprica through Hera, and don't feel a need for her to be a Cylon too. (Adama Senior would work for me as a Cylon, but my favorite--if unlikely--suggestion has been that Galactica is the last one. Problematic what with the visions of the Five as humanform, but whatever.)

I want to see what they do, week-to-week, and they have some really great scenes and I admire those, but I'm not expecting a coherent story. And that's kind of sad. On the plus side, once I let that expectation go I'm free to just kind of let it wash over me in a pretty, pretty wave, and that's nice.

Yes, this! And I'm going to hope they cancel it after the next season because I don't know how long I can do that for!

I just don't know how much more story they have in them, frankly. I mean, Ron Moore said they'd run out of ideas after Pegasus, right? That's... worrisome.

You know, I bet they haven't given Caprica 6 new clothes because there's so many copies of her running around that the viewers can't be relied on to remember who she is without the clothing clues. That's my theory.

There is some linkage in Boxed Set regarding the song. It is spoilery for your speculation. Also crackaddled.

I am in your corner with regards to BSG. But not Lost: I stopped watching midway through s2, and haven't missed it yet.

Ron Moore has mentioned this very thing. Apparently there's a big problem (or fear of a problem), I believe mostly on the part of the network, that because of the nature of the Cylon copies, audiences will think "New outfit=new character", and get confused.

She's THE ONE IN THE CELL ON GALACTICA. GOD. I mean, I am very bad with keeping characters straight and I would totally be able to figure that one out!

Hey, don't look at me! Although I'm thinking, in a world where it took weeks and weeks for people to figure out that DL and The Haitian were different people, you don't want to underestimate the ability of the audience to get confused.

Yes, the Lost thing! Except for I'm not watching Lost, because it annoys me, but I am watching BSG for exactly the same reasons that many people watch Lost. So I was delighted with the crack. They could go anywhere with this!

Hee. Well, that's true, it does leave me wondering what will happen, so it was successful on that level. The fact that I'm thinking that whatever's going to happen may well be extremely odd is... beside the point.

And it's still hands-down the most beautiful show on television, as far as I'm concerned.. The CGI work especially, but all of the cinematography is great, really.
