To recap, Mary McDonnell is headed over to TNT and Kyra's Sedgwick's show "The Closer" for a multi-episode arc, debuting early in the season when it comes back.

I love The Closer. It is funny, it is smart (for the most part), and it's got an awesome ensemble of characters.

This is great news! I'm so glad Mary has been cast in something with substance, and this gives us something to look forward to, post BSG. Brilliant.

Yes! And I don't even care how she's played (apparently, she is supposed to butt heads with Brenda, so we might see her the way we originally saw Taylor), because even if she's playing a bitchy alpha female, she'll still be great, and I doubt the same writers who created Brenda would create someone with no redeeming qualities, unless they're sitting on the other side of the interrogation table.

lol... I honestly didn't mind it too much. I already watch the show (sometimes, I'll admit to it... it's one of my "so glad my life isn't that crazy" guilty pleasures.) and I wasn't a BSG fan at the time of her episodes, so I was kind of like "Hey... isn't that Carter's mum? Oh, wait, that's the one [members of my flist] are nuts about."

But, I'm watching my first episode of The Closer right now. I am going to be prepared. And possibly hooked on another show. ;)

However, I could see if they wanted to make her quirky (in an obviously different way from Brenda, of course) and snarky and sarcastic, she could be one of the ex-Mrs. Provenzas as well!

OMG, an ex-Mrs. Provenza would be awesome. An ex-Mrs. Provenza who gets together with Flynn? Even more awesome. (And I would kill for a scene where she yells Provenza's first name across the squad room.)

TNT is lame on the hiatus, but I'm so behind on The Closer that it's OK. :)

And I can just imagine one of those little running themes they usually have throughout an episode being everyone wondering exactly how this particular Provenza marriage came to be.

I haven't been particularly upset this week (I'm kind of looking askance at the people who are still sobbing uncontrollably at this point). I miss BSG, but I'm more upset over the fact that the Obama press conference is going to bump both NCIS and Bones this week. Damn you, American Idol!

TNT is better at keeping their start date promises, though.

Yup, it's sometime in June. I don't have a definite date yet, but TNT is a lot better at keeping their promises than Sci-Fi is.
