Happy New Year! I hope you all have a wonderful 2009. I for one am grateful to leave 2008 behind. I feel a little frightened, because some of the people who were in my life this time last year aren't anymore. I sometimes wonder what will change in the next year but I don't have a say in these things so I may as well just live my life, right?

I wish I could read more books but all the books I read I have to buy and OMG, books are VERY expensive here and that's really sad :((((((

I wanna see Marley & Me SOOOOO bad, I cried reading the book, guess I'll be sobbing by the end of the movie.

Hm, you should try Regina Spektor, I love her. And Rilo Kiley :D

Aw I know what you mean about books being expensive :( They're taxed a lot in Australia, which I think is unfair because they promote learning. I tend to find ebooks or live at the library, or get gift vouchers for my birthday/Christmas.

And yes you will cry in Marley and Me, I'm sure. I've never seen so many grown men in tears. A heap of them left just before the lights came on with their sunglasses on lol.

Thanks for the music tips! I'll check them out.

The taxes here are beyond ridiculous!!! I buy most of my foreign books in english, because they are cheaper than the translated versions, they cost like half the price and yet, they help me improve my english, but now the dollar is so freaking expensive I can't even buy them anymore :((( I can't stand ebooks because of my sight, I wear glassed and then if I read on the computer for too long, my eyes begin to hurt and that sucks so bad. And there's no decent library in my city, so, it sucks big time 'cause I really love reading. :(

I'm sure I'll cry too, omg, I hate the fact that there's no decent movie theater here, so, I'll probably have to wait for a good version of the movie so I can download. I'm pretty sure the dvd won't come out soon enough!

Happy New Year, Katie! I hope it's filled with so much happiness, love, and joy for you! You definitely deserve it! :)

That is SO amazing that you read 73 books. I wish I could keep track of how many I've read!

I'm pretty sure I know what happens but I have to make sure. The dog dies in the movie right? :(

Aw thanks *hugs*
You know that visual bookshelf application thing I sent you on facebook? That's how I keep track since my memory is pretty bad lol. It tells me what I've read and I just count it at the end of the year.

As for Marley and Me

SPOILER SPACE

Yeah :(

Music Rec - I've been listening to Vampire Weekend a lot the past day or so. Also Laura Marling's also a good choice.

Try this link if you want to steal some music from me.

I kept coming across books on your list I have to add to my to-read list (as if it isn't long enough already). I'm in process of typing mine up at the moment.

You should post your to-read list. Might give me some ideas lol. I should get mine out of my head and typed up too.
Thanks for the music recs as well. I'll be sure to check them out, and your collection. Ta :D
