this morning driving home, the car in front of me had a license plate that said "just us". i started thinking about all of the sad things that could've happened to the family to make them feel alone like that. tragic accidents or tragic cancers. i switched into the other lane so i could see the driver. he was maybe thirty with a baby face and messy
