You wasted no time and snagged me right from the summary. "...he's never had the power to rewrite someone else's fairy tale before." Because, it's just, ajklfjlksfad. Beautiful. And Chibitalia arc is such a fairy tale and a love story and and. It resonates so well with all the other stuff we love, in other fandoms and stories.
And then the fic. Because as much as I love HRE/Chibitalia -> GerIta, and being a sucker for "suddenly it clicks for them," and I crave a happy ending just as much as I glory in the bittersweet sadness of it all... it can't be perfect. I have wanted so much to see a fic that acknowledges, "Hey, you used to be Holy Roman Empire and I've always loved you! I hope that doesn't screw up our relationship now!" Because--the happy ending, it can't be perfect. Germany and Italy have fallen in love again, but as two different people from Holy Roman Empire and Chibitalia, and their relationship is different as well. Pasting that old
