YES. SO MUCH YES.

Ooh, and I wish I could help… I generally stay away from Whedonverse fan fiction, unless I get an odd craving for some pairing or character, in which case I tend to be disappointed. So this is the one area of Whedon I cannot help in.

Except to say that Mimi recently picked up the FFff bug, and produced this community, which has pretty icons and some good drabbles if you can avoid the Rayne…

The fanfiction quests have failed; but that's ok, because the DVDs are just good enough to make up for it.

The "100" coms sort of scare me a little bit...but I might check this out.

Oh yes. That is my problem with Joss Whedon things... shows that good, how can the fanfiction but seem pithy in comparison? The thing is, they're so good, there must be REALLY GOOD fanfiction for them somewhere, but I can't bring myself to wade through the bad looking for it.

Oh... there's more than one "100"-type com? Why are they scary?

Someday we'll find a wealth of fanfiction, and then all the world will be right. Until then...it's probably best to avoid.
Though, contrary to my usual tastes, Firefly gives me strong urges to look up (not smutty) femslash. I don't know why...but it does. And I will find it, yes I will.
And even if not, I'll still cling to my S/K love until the day that I die.

And the 100 communities find their way into every fandom. The frightening thing is you've got lots of badfic authors who are "challenges omg yayz!11!!!1111!" It just...doesn't end well. They get many many chances to pimp their products, and those are not products we would like pimped.

Though some are definitely better than others. I haven't looked at the firefly one yet, but I'm willing to hold out hope for quality.
