Blue on Blue

This beauty was first at the feeder the other morning after making such a ruckus at my windows squawking that the feeder was empty.  For my reward, I was able to take numerous pictures of him/her and one of which I share here. (Note: Blue Jays are almost impossible to sex as both the male and female look so alike.)

They do still come to the feeders at this time of the year? Great bird!

Yes they do come to the feeders and the bird baths. We had such a long winter here in this part of Canada and they are hungry. We feed them all year now as ornithologists all agree that backyard feeders are a good source of protein for them. This one is rather cheeky and some of its antics are a joy to watch in its behaviours with other jays and other birds. Always noisy though.
