Things What I Have Done Part 2

It's been at least another month since I last posted but I am still here and still reading. In the spirit of accentuating the positive (because the sale of my mother's house is still hanging over us like a lead balloon) I am trying to think of fun things that I have done in the past few weeks.

My sisters and I had our annual weekend together last week and we always head for the cinema. Those were our two choices as well, but we all agreed we couldn't cope with the ridiculous mustache and pitched on Paddington2. Neither of the others had seen Paddington but that didn't matter - we giggled all the way through. Hugh Grant steals the show - he's hilarious. Loved it. I'll have to write some Christmas cards, too - I'm procrastinating!

Funnily enough I still haven't managed to write any cards :)

I think you definitely made the right choice with Paddington 2. There were so many delightful moments and I absolutely loved Hugh Grant. We laughed and laughed and occasionally sniffled slightly :) Glad you enjoyed it too.

Sorry to hear about the deaths. At least you got to see your cousins even if it was for a sad reason.

Glad to hear that you got to eat your way around. That sounds like fun.

The eating was great fun though we did feel a bit full afterwards. It was fascinating to see how food we take for granted was brought to this country by immigrants, even our beloved fish and chips.

Thanks for the sympathy. This year really has been a bit of a downer, though I know I'm not the only one who has found that.

We’ve been on the Spitalfields food tour it makes you realise how much immigration has shaped and enhanced our food choices.. It was really interesting. I loved the Beigels.

I’ve avoided Murder on the Orient express because Kenneth Branagh is just not Poirot enough for me.

Sorry to hear of more funerals. :(

John's uncle was 96 so it wasn't a total surprise. I could have done without another funeral this year but we felt we had to go as he was the last surviving member of that generation of the family.

The Spitalfields tour was great. I loved the beigels too. John doesn't really like them but failed to tell me so until after he'd eaten his otherwise I would have offered to eat it for him :)

We've watched the other film version of Murder on the Orient Express several times so it was just impossible to get it out of our heads. This version looked spectacular but it couldn't erase the other one.
