She saved the world...a lot

We've been away for a couple of days so I've only been able to read about the 20th anniversary of Buffy the Vampire Slayer on Twitter. It's been very frustrating feeling so nostalgic and not able to watch an episode. Anyway, now we're back from our brief jaunt and I can't let the occasion pass unmarked. I was going to write something about the show ( Read more... )

Buffy is definitely the reason I'm on Lj! Wouldn't have met you without it!

Nor you would. It's funny to think that we actually worked in the same building for a time but only met because of Buffy.

::nods along:: Yes, this - all of this. So true, and the perfect summary.

And finally the most important thing is all the people that I know out there because of Buffy.

This.

I'm sure there are many people out there who wouldn't believe how powerful a TV show can be in bringing people together. The community that Buffy created has been a wonderful thing.

I've been reading all the articles, post and comments about BtVS and how it touched so many lives.

I count myself very lucky to have found the show, lj and fanfiction. I don't know what my life would be w/o Buffy. This whole anniversary outpouring of Buffy love has done my poor little BtVS loving heart a world of good.

It has been lovely to see so much Buffy love. We watched an episode last night...and then we watched another. Even after so long it still feels fresh and the writing and acting shine.

Buffy wasn't my introduction to fandom but it has been an enormous part of my online life and lj has been of incalculable importance to me.

It's been lovely to know you too and one of the many pleasures BtVS has brought me.

I thought of you when we watched The Wish on Saturday and I had some Ganya moments :)

Many hugs and good thoughts to you too.

Off-topic: You're going to see Love in Idleness, yes? They just had press night and the reviews are glowing, including for ASH. (I AM SO BITTER I CAN'T GO.)

Let me know what you think if you go see it. :)

[hugs]

Of course I will. I've been chasing round doing my mother's shopping all morning so haven't had time to check the reviews so I'm thrilled they are glowing. We're not going until mid-April but I will definitely let you know what I think then.

It is possible it might transfer to the West End as productions at the Chocolate Factory often do but I doubt if the timing will be right for you :(

Many hugs back.
