Nice to see that Scotland still looks the same. And yes, I'd heard you had a problem with our grey squirrels. Around here, they tend to beat up the little black ones.

Grey squirrels are an absolute menace, though a cute menace sometimes. We have them in our garden and they dig up all the bulbs. I once saw a staring match between a cat and a squirrel which was pretty funny as neither would back down. The cat stalked away in the end with pretend dignity :)

Oh - it is ages since I was up that way. I used to go up the A9 on a motorbike each year, from Newcastle, to spend Easter with friends in Dingwall, in the early 1980s.

Such a lovely area - anywhere your Dad's bench ends up will be beautiful.

I rather like the idea of the Scottish skiing season lasting until June this year, that will be so good for all involved.

And well done on spotting the red squirrel.

I was very pleased to see the red squirrel, though he wasn't disguising himself that hard.

Everyone was thrilled about the excellent skiing season they were having.

The good old A9. I can remember before the "new" road was built and you could spend hours stuck behind a caravan!

They are, but you can never really catch them in a photograph.

Thanks for sharing this lovely picspam. :D Scotland is almost on top of my 'places-I-want-to-see' list, even in its rather winterly state it looks amazing.

I don't think I've ever seen a grey or black squirrel around here. Ours are all red and we have quite a few living in the little parkway next door. They like climbing up and down my hedge or snacking on the peanuts I put out for birds in winter, so cute. :D

Whatever you do don't let the grey squirrels in. Our poor little red squirrels didn't stand a chance against them. I can't feed the birds because the grey squirrels would get all the food. They're little menaces where I live.

The Highlands (and Lowlands) of Scotland are amazingly beautiful. They even look good when drenched with rain. Definitely worth seeing.
