One reason to be cheerful and one reason to be annoyed

David Tennant is going to play Richard II for RSC. Not until October this year, first in Stratford-upon-Avon and then moving to the Barbican in London, but the prospect of seeing him on stage again is certainly something to look forward to. I missed DT in Hamlet but saw him in "Much Ado About Nothing" where he was riotously funny, so I'm definitely ( Read more... )

Oh, I bet he'd be a GREAT Richard II -- febrile, not languid; in love with the sound of his own voice. I can see it.

So can I! He's pretty much my ideal casting for Richard II.

Many hugs back :)

I bet DH will be great in that role!

What's up with your DVDs? It's getting beyond annoying *taps foot impatiently along with you*

Our post is very wayward at the moment as we have a series of temporary postmen. We have a regular guy on Friday and I expect that is when they will turn up (I hope!).

He should be fantastic in that role!

Yay - is grateful for RSC membership and priority booking - that's a definite must see! My Merlin DVDs arrived today - just ordered them on Monday. Sounds like poor service from the PO!

I think they have a staff shortage round here at the moment! These were pre-ordered several weeks ago, which makes it even more annoying!

that's a definite must see!

That's what I thought too! I wasn't over-excited by the spring/summer programme this year so I'm pleased the winter one is more interesting.

Congrats and yay about seeing DT again! I've rarely seen grown-up plays (I did a lot of theater in high school) but have always enjoyed them a lot when I did get a chance to venture out!

And I hope your dvd's make their way to your mailbox SOON!!!!

Sorry about the late reply. I missed the comment or didn't get the notification.

My DVDs did finally arrive and weren't lost which is what I was afraid of.

Because we live near London it's very easy (if sometimes expensive) for us to go to the theatre. After years of not going we decided we really should go more so I've seen quite a lot of plays in the last couple of years.
