Happy 90th Birthday

I can't let this one go by. Amidst all the current BBC news drama it's the 90th birthday of something it does better than anything else - Radio.

A compilation of radio moments through the years from the BBC Sound Archive, which was founded as explained in the 1937 clip by a secretary who realised the value of old recordings when her bosses didn't

I'd be lost without radio - could probably put up without TV but never my radio. I've spent a lovely afternoon on the iPlayer listening to some late night Radio 4 stuff that I wouldn't otherwise have heard.

How quickly (relatively) we get used to new things - listening to them give out a web address, with the http// spelled out sounded so funny.

I know! The fact that Radio 1 DJs didn't know what a web address should so like was hilarious.

I'd be lost without the radio too and the iPlayer makes it so easy to catch up with things. I don't know how I managed without it.
