Lovely thinky-thoughts; I always enjoy your meta posts.
I loved how Bradley played that last scene with Gwen - the flowers and honesty and sexy, teasing little side-glances that he usually saves for Merlin were truly irresistible, and a long way from the bumbling, puppydog Arthur of S2.
Is it just me, or is he nearly always wearing a white shirt when he has love scenes with Gwen?
I thoroughly agree with everything you've said here. This season of Merlin has been going from strength to strength and I was so happy to see Arthur making mistakes and realizing them. Plus distancing himself from Merlin, Gwen and his knights was both heartbreaking and expected. I thought both Bradley and Colin were really exceptional this whole season but they've only gotten better over this last couple of episodes.
She was really great. Lindsay Duncan would make a fantastic Boudicca with that look.

I was so convinced, and I think we all were, that the series would end with Arthur becoming king, but seeing him as a young king making mistakes is actually a much better story.

They've both been amazing. I'm so pleased to see Bradley being able to really show what he can do as an actor.

Using my Uther icon because I don't suppose I'll get many more chances.

I love how you said what a far way Arthur was from his Round Table right now but slowly moving his way back to it.
And being confronted with a bare footed flower wielding Arthur, I'm not sure I would've been any stronger than fair Gwen.
Thanks for sharing this with us!!!

I don't think any of us would have been. I was nearly nose to nose with my computer screen and the temptation to lick the image was quite strong *g*.

Yes, and I'm really getting an impression of a couple who know each other a lot better now.
Thanks for calling it meta. I call it rambling myself :)
