Yup. It won't be today now but they're hopeful it will be tomorrow. I shall believe it when I hear it as we went through this with Ma-in-Law. Every time we were told she was coming out on a particular day it used to end up being about a week later. My mum did speak to dad's doctor though so we know what the reason for the delay is and it's a fixable problem.
I'm so sorry to hear about your father. The best use of baby dragons is to distract us from these things.
I like your point about Merlin's POV dominating this episode; I was actually surprised how little of his POV we got in the opening two-parter, which was split among so many different characters.
And I like your interpretation of Gaius's words. It makes me wonder where exactly Gaius stands on legalizing magic--I could almost believe he'd be happy with the status quo if Arthur would just make an exception for Merlin.
it's a shame Merlin hadn't watched any Indiana Jones films :)

I think that may very well be true. He may not support total persecution of magic users but he's certainly deeply suspicious of most of them. My guess would be he's seen one too many magic user become corrupted by the power, which is why he only uses it himself in extreme circumstances.

Thanks! He's 85 and getting frailer all the time so that baby dragon was very necessary.

it was enjoyable and that's definitely an acceptable one-off episode in my book.
It was very enjoyable to rewatch without expecting something awful to happen. And the baby dragon seemed even cuter :)
