As our final holiday treat I was lucky enough to get us tickets to a free evening's entertainment at Broadcasting House watching "Bleak Expectations" being recorded. For people that haven't heard this it's a Radio 4 comedy show which is a) very funny and b) stars amongst other people a certain Anthony Head. Last night as well as the lovely ASH we ( Read more... )

It was great fun. ASH looked as if he was having as good a time as the audience.

Many hugs back :)

How absolutely spiffing. Giggly ASH always sets me off.

If we lived a bit closer (I know it's only 30 minutes to Kings' Cross but there's the rest of the journey to wherever the show is recorded), I'd apply for tickets for The Write Stuff.

If it's recorded at Broadcasting House, and I think it is, it's only a few stops on the Victoria Line and then a short walk up from Oxford Circus. There is a lot of hanging about though and as they usually record two shows it wouldn't finish until about 10pm.

Giggly ASH always sets me off.

Me too. Fortunately he wasn't corpsing but he was definitely enjoying himself recording it, as were the rest of the cast.

I wouldn't dream of it *g*. That was a lovely story. I personally don't have a problem with what happened to Donna because I think Ten did the only thing he could do in the time available and letting her die would have been unthinkable, but I liked the fact that you let Eleven give her the choice.

I am GREEEEEN with envy!

We knew we were going to see ASH, but unexpected David Mitchell was the icing on the cake even though he has been in the series before.

I'm feeling all nostalgic now about my time being the Production assistant on the Radio shows... :( I did love that job - shame the pay was so lousy!!!

Which floor were you on in BH?

Edited because I clearly have no command of English this evening!!! LOL!

Yes, I was very nostalgic too. We were standing in the queue saying things like "I think we're under the balcony where Tessa and Norma tried to grow tomatoes" and "Which was the window Hugh was sick out of?" *g*

Which floor were you on in BH?

When I worked there we were on the Fifth Floor. Last night we were on the Ground Floor in the Radio Theatre which has taken over from the Paris for Light Ent audience shows.

Poor BH finally has it's scaffolding removed now and all I can say is...typical BBC!

Oh, I'd have loved to do that. Such fun and to have ASH there, too. :DD
