She is no better, she is much the same

Just popping in to say "hi" and that I am still suffering with the Cold From Hell. I'm sure I have had worse colds in my life but I think this is definitely in the Top Five. I even have a chesty cough and I *never* get a chesty cough. I feel like one of those Victorian ladies of indeterminate age who languish consumptively on sofas coughing ( Read more... )

Thanks. I am nearly better but it's one of those horrid colds that keeps boomeranging back on me. My dad needs the good thoughts far more than I do really.

Many hugs back.

Sorry to hear about your dad (I'm still catching up with Lj!). Sounds like he's on the mend but it can be a slow process. Having said that, when my Mum broke her leg at Easter she was back up and running very quickly (but I suppose it depends which part is broken).

Take it easy with the cold - nothing worse than a chesty cough...!

I'm hoping the cough perishes soon from my sheer boredom with it!

Sounds like he's on the mend but it can be a slow process.

I'm afraid so. He broke his femur because he unfortunately fell on his artificial knee - the one thing you really mustn't do. He is making progress but I think he's finding the fact that it's so slow hard to cope with. Good to hear about your Mum's speedy recovery.

You have my deepest sympathy. It's both tiring and tiresome to languish consumptively. And no, tissues don't quite cut the mustard (whatever that means).

Sorry to hear about your Dad. Wishing the both of you a speedy recovery.

Thanks. I'm a lot better really but my poor Dad looks to be stuck in hospital for a while yet.

I don't know either but I do know that putting your feet in a mustard bath used to be an old style cold cure. Sounds fairly revolting though not as revolting as my grandmother's cure for my mother's colds when she was a child which was to send her to school with her chest wrapped in brown paper smeared in goose grease. I haven't resorted to that yet!

Sorry you're still among the ill, as all too many of us have been lately. Glad your dad's doing better, though.

Yes, that's the main thing. My cold is a minor ailment compared to his broken leg
