Art, TV and comics

Just realised I haven't updated for a while so I thought I'd try and kick myself into writing something. LJ is a habit which I sometimes tend to let slip when I'm feeling lazy!

I do love bullet points.

I have also now broken my golden rule which has always been never ship the Doctor because I really enjoyed the Doctor and River together
River really has stirred things up, huh? I find this fascinating. I still only ship Doctor/Master (& Doctor/Tardis), but I like River a lot and find the dynamic fascinating. And thanks for the recs - will see if I can find a spare moment or two for reading...

a) he is a dickhead, and b) he doesn't seem to have watched the TV series of Buffy after Season 3!
*giggles*

(Am wishing I lived in London so I could go see some art. ::sigh::)

I'm not sure all of it qualifies as art. I forgot to mention the pile of pink model penises that formed a shadow head!

River really has stirred things up, huh?

I'm pretty sure that was deliberate *g*.

I like River a lot and find the dynamic fascinating.

I think what I found attractive about it was that they seemed to have an equal relationship despite the fact that he's a Time Lord and she isn't, and that was interesting. I obviously like to see the Doctor with an older woman as I love both Donna and Evelyn (from the audios) too, which may say quite a bit about me *g*.

It's a continuation of the TV series in comic format. It's been planned and partly written by Joss Whedon, but I have to say that unless you're a completist (like me) I wouldn't really bother with it. The characters seem like total strangers at times and I don't like the artwork. Also it doesn't have Spike and Angel so it loses a lot of appeal on that score *g*.

Angel and Spike are starring in another comic called Angel: After the Fall, which I much prefer, and which might have something to do with Scott Allie's anti-Spike outburst.

Thanks. Now the Spike and Angel comic I would be very interested in. How would I find it?

And tell me about the Scott Allie anti-Spike outburst please. I take it this Scott writes the comic?

No, he's the editorial director of Dark Horse comics which produces Buffy Season 8. Joss Whedon and various other people are actually writing the comic.

There's a piece about his anti-Spike outburst here, but basically he thinks that Angel is Buffy's One True Love, that Spike raped Buffy and was an out and out villain for the "majority" of the series. None of these opinions are likely to endear him to Spike fans who might be buying the comics, which is why I think he's a bit of a dickhead in alienating a large chunk of his potential audience!

As to where you can get Angel: After the Fall, I should think either your local comic shop or Amazon. Issue 8 comes out this week but I think the first section is about to come out as a paperback so you might be better to wait for that. It continues on from "Not Fade Away" and is, so far, very interesting. The artwork isn't to everybody's taste but I like it better than Buffy Season 8.
