Favorite medicines or med research: benfotiamine for diabetes

They may recall having seen news reports back a few years ago- at the time, most of the research (and the only source) came from Europe.

All the subsequent research has corroborated and extended the initial findings. There's also now a manufacturer in Canada (AOR), so the cost is better.

I found that the best way to present benfotiamine to doctors who hadn't heard of it was to put abstracts for recent articles on why it works- starting with Nature Medicine- first. Then the 'what it does (helps reverse neuropathy)', and only last (if at all) the news articles.
