I've been taking a bit of an unplanned internet break the last couple weeks. I hope to get back to regular blogging soon, but I needed to restart my brain and, well, the interwebz are too distracting sometimes...

I don't usually post about books outside of my usual monthly reading wrap-up, but today I finished GONE, the last book in the Wake

Finished this afternoon. Loved it!

After finishing Fade, it felt like the third in the trilogy would be another episode with another case, so I was completely not expecting Gone. I loved that it tied up the trilogy in such an unexpected and perfect way, and I was pretty unsure about which decision she'd make in the end until she made it. The funeral service made me tear, and I liked the development of all the relationships that were shown so beautifully there.

I seriously loved those books. Each one was different but they built so well on each other.

My only complaint, a very minor one, was that I wanted more Cabel, but it wouldn't have fit with the plot at all. Guess I'll just have to re-read Wake for that :)

And I totally want to give Janie a big hug.
