I'm totally yoinking this idea from Victoria & her most excellent Books/Authors Friday 5, partly because I have no brain power left (think I'm getting sick, bleh!) & partly because it's just a fab idea. :)

Every month I post my monthly reading list for the previous month's books, but I don't always collect my absolute favorites in a list. So, as ( Read more... )

Wintergirls and Fragile Eternity are among my favorites too. And I've had the first Mortal Instruments book forever--I guess I should really read that one!

Hope you feel better soon!

I didn't read City of Bones until after City of Ashes came out, and then I devoured both in just a couple days- they're so fantastic, I highly recommend anything Cassandra Clare writes. :)

This is tricky! But if I think of my 5, I could copy it here and on V's...

1) Hunger Games & Catching Fire (not cheating per your combinings)
2)All of Cassie Clare MI books (hadn't read them until this year... now I've read them twice)
3)Fire and Graceling by Kristin Cashore
4)Cracked up to Be by Courtney Summers
5)Front and Center by Catherine Gilbert Murdock

*you know I'm going to want to come back and amend this, right?

**There are a couple Not-yet-pub'd books I'd <3 to add, but that's just teasing :)

*** Also Trouble by Gary Schmidt and Fade by Lisa McMann. (You really didn't think I'd follow the rules, did you?)

Haha! Yeah, I wanted to add:

Eyes Like Stars
Shiver
The Demon's Lexicon
Let it Snow
Shadowed Summer
Dull Boy

....er, yeah. I could go on.... End of Year list will not be limited to a certain #

And yes, definitely at least one not-yet-pub'd book I want to add... :)

I love City of Glass and the rest of the Mortal Instruments trilogy. My problem is that I want more.

Dying to read Wintergirls and this is so sad but I can't remember if I read Fragile Eternity or not. I'll have to double check on that one. I know I've liked everything I've read by Marr but just can't remember about that book. I'll have to check out the other two. I think you and I have similar tastes in books. I always like your suggetions.

Clockwork Princess (Infernal Devices #1) will be out next fall & I think she said Simon's book, City of Fallen Angels, will be out in 2011. I'm interested to see what they'll do with the movies :-D

Wintergirls is really fantastic.

If you haven't met the High Court yet, you haven't read Fragile Eternity.

Glad you like my suggestions :)
