Let it go

These last two weeks have been kinda crazy. Between Mother's Day (we hosted brunch for 8, plus two wee ones), my 20 week anatomy scan (everything looks great and it's a GIRL!), and then hubby's step-dad coming in to visit for nearly a week, it was going to be nuts anyway. Add in the fact that I overexerted myself Monday and my back has been feeling ( Read more... )

I'm still trying to figure this out. Every time I think about getting back into writing, I stop myself. There is just TOO MUCH going on and I feel I'll completely lose my sanity if I attempt to add one thing to my list. :( I'm not thrilled about it, but I'm just hoping one day when Wyrmling is a bit older and I'm not trying to cope with business and family health issues that I'll be able to carve time out.

Things that I feel more of a loss is when I'm so wiped out that I can't focus on reading, and either so tired or my arms are hurting or numb so I need to lay off the crafting. Oddly, I cope with the loss of reading by playing more point-and-click games on Kindle. A lot of them have very involved storylines, so I kind of get my story fix from that.

Reading is probably closest to my version of your sanity keeper. :-) I don't really lose the habit of that if I miss a day or two. It's pretty rare, though, and when I do realize I've gone a day or two without reading, it's usually that my life has been crazy busy AND that I'm really not excited about the book I'm reading (Can I tell you how excited I am to have reached an ending in Don Quixote? Two years I've been trying to get through that tome!!). At that point, I either quit the book and find something that I'll make time for, or I ask my family to make sure I get some time. They're not so good about leaving me alone sometimes. ;-) If it's not a temporary crazy busy, but a routine or schedule thing that's just not working, we talk it out and figure out a change to the routine that will hopefully work better.
