I am trying to get as many opinions as possible on this for the purposes of my essay (on classics in pop culture), so please vote! No third option because it's a self-consciously polarising question. :3

I'm an ancient history student so I am biased. :P It starts out quite slow, the first episode is double length on the DVD and it's not the most exciting one, but once it gets going and you get to Sejanus and then to Caligula it's fucking awesome. :D
