Can someone explain to me how Mormons believe people came from the Middle East and settled in the Americas 2500 BC? I mean...like give me some evidence of this

i skimmed through most of this. i am currently in an archaeology-through-anthropology class called Buried Civilizations of the Americas. we've gone through mesoamerica, south america, and most recently, north america. we go all the way back past the archaic and paleoindian time periods, to the thought-to-be migration to the americas. katherine is right in that many of the earlier skulls resemble those originating from mongolia. kennewick man was found in north america, and several skulls of the same time period were found in mesoamerica (i'm not sure about south america, can't remember off the top of my head). nothing i've learned has pointed toward the area of the middle east. and about the temples-- there are many located in meso- and south america, but the majority of them are also associated with ritualistic cultures who worship several deities, some with evidence of human sacrifice and possible cannibalism. because so much time passed before written history, one must rely on archaeological evidence, and after that, it's pretty

I guess I don't really care what "faith" people have and I do love many aspects of ALL religions...except when it blatently contradicts genetics/archeological evidence.

but i think keeley was right. people can believe whatever they want. it's the idea of pushing those ideas on others that bothers me.

I guess I don't really care what "faith" people have and I do love many aspects of ALL religions...except when it blatently contradicts genetics/archeological evidence.
