Title: No Looking Back 5/6 Author: katherine_b Rating: PG Summary: Donna Noble meets a man who calls himself John Smith. Characters: The Doctor, Donna Noble
I am seriously addicted to this story. Your writing has always been enviable but this is nothing short of amazing. The details are delicious and your plotting is perfect. I love this and I can hardly wait for the next chapter. Thank you so much!
And you're finishing in ONE chapter? Holy... A lot could go wrong... even with a lot going right. (A lot like my day, although the going wrong part feels heavier right now.) And some major feels are being hit. Why do I get the feeling Wilfred knows what the Ninth Doctor looked like? Or perhaps wonders if it's who the one they knew regenerated into?
As for Wilf, it's not really explained in the fic, but I suspect he sees each man who pays attention to Donna as possibly being the post-Ten version of the Doctor coming to check on her. John's comments about the stars probably also caught his attention. One suspects that the psychic paper had rather more information on it than just 'John's' details...
So much mention of time in this chapter, and Donna called him Spaceman, telling him his time machine was just outside! If only she knew and was able to survive it. Oh, and John's comment "Couldn't get rid of me if you tried" seems eerily familiar
( ... )
Ah, you noticed the mentions of time - well done! And yes, the strains of familiarity are meant to be there as well.
You're absolutely right with Wilf, and also that John is depending on things like the psychic paper to tell him who he is.
I think Sylvia would struggle not to criticise Donna, and only because it would be such a habit and a reflexive response. Her glances at Wilf show that she is aware of what she's saying and that she is trying to break herself of the habit. And yes, Donna is amazing!
The final chapter will be up in mere moments and we will have to see exactly when and how things fall to pieces, if indeed they do.

And yes, 'forever' is always bad...
