*sniffles* You caught Nine, fantastically (sorry, couldn't resist :-)). Bittersweet ending, but he has some healing and adventures ahead and eventually he'll meet his 'mysterious redhead' again.

Wonderful story, thanks for writing it.

Thank you so much! I'm delighted that my Nine worked and that you enjoyed it so much.

Not sure he'll necessarily recognise his 'mysterious redhead' right away, as I don't think the slapping and the yelling work with the gentle hands and soft voice, but I'm sure he'll make the connection at some point...

the owner of the gentle voice and soft hands that are lingering in his memory.
*giggles* Well, that explains why the Doctor didn't realise straight away who Donna was when she turned up in his TARDIS.

Fantastic end to a fantastic story. (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

*snuggles Nine* Poor man needs more love.

*lol* Yup, he would certainly have taken a while to make the connection! And I'm so glad you like it.

Nine definitely does need love!

That was such a lovely ending. I think Nine feeling angry at himself for being so vulnerable is so in character, and I liked the optimism at the end - that he's healing, and that he will see her again. This has been a great series =D

awww, poor Nine. I feel a bit sad for him...I really hope he meets Rose very soon!

That was a wonderful story, as usual, and I really enjoyed reading it. Thank you for sharing it with us! *hugs*

Thank you. And yes, I also feel a bit sorry for Nine and (I never thought I'd write this!) I hope Rose isn't too far away.

You said to someone that you were not sure if he would recognize his mysterious redhead right away. It would be interesting to see if and when he does realize that it was Donna who was with him right after Gallifrey was destroyed and that she was the one that took care of him.

*very quietly sneeks some food to your plot bunnies then runs and hides*

I really loved this story. I liked 9 lot.

*squeaks and tries to run, but is surrounded by bunnies before I can*

You mean, nasty troll! (Okay, not really, you know I love you.) That was a terrible thing to do, couching a plot bunny in among your compliments and things. And now the bloody thing is gnawing at my ankles and I have an idea that this story will eventually get written.

Darn you.

And I'm now also very fond of Nine!

I would like to say that I am sorry but I think that you know that I really am not. Anything that gets another wonderful story from you I am willing to do.

Does apologize for the bunnies nipping at your ankles. *scolds the bunnies for nipping* They were just supposed to rub up gently. Mmmm, see how soft they are. Nice bunnies.

9 became my favorite Doctor very few stories in. I liked him more and more as the series went on. I was sad that we only got one series of 9. But then 10 came and he, barring a spectacular performance by someone following him, will always and forever be my Doctor. Long live the 10th Doctor and his Donna!!!

*lol* Yes, they're very soft and very aggravating when I was hoping that I'd escaped from this story with my sanity (more or less) intact. I am in the process of writing yet another story, but I will promise to come to this idea because it's almost too fascinating to ignore.

And, apart from dabbling in the series when I was a child, which just made me terrified of it, I started properly with Ten, so he's 'my' Doctor and always will be. Donna was icing on the cake. But I'm now willing to consider writing Nine, which I hadn't been before. I may even be willing to pair him up with Rose. Rose/Ten is still waaaay out of my comfort zone though...
