Yup, this sounds like the Dakin I saw in the film. *sigh* I'll never understand why he didn't go for the drink with Irwin. Then again Dakin really needs an alpha male to squash him a bit. I think you captured Posner well, the combination of knowing exactly what Dakin is + wanting him anyway. Well done!

Apparantly in the play, Irwin is in a wheelchair so that's why they don't do it in the play - it sort of freaks Dakin out. I have no idea why Irwin isn't in a wheelchair in the film, but there you have it. Maybe for Dakin the challenge of having it off with a teacher was the real attraction, who knows.

It's Dakin for sure. And he could use a few females to squash him too, to give him that "you think you're so hot, well you're just an egotistical wanker and I can find a better boy than you before walking out of this building/quad/bar."
