Was there some kind of weird Arabian character flinging roses in Sailor Moon? This is about the point when I got sick of the show and stopped watching, but I vaguely remember that. Now, who could it possibly be?

Not Arabian - he wore a tuxedo, cape and a black mask and flung roses. Not surprisingly, he was known as "Tuxedo Mask".

ah, but there was. He was called the Moonlight Knight and showed up while Tuxedo Mask was being brainwashed by the bad guys.

Oh yeah - I remember reading that now (most of what I know is courtesy of Wikipedia, so I'm sure I've forgotten a few pieces here and there).

I just took a look: he's also Mamoru Chiba, but he came about during a period where Usagi wished to be normal so everyone had their memories blocked. Moonlight Knight was split from Mamoru and functioned independently until Mamoru regained his memories.

That crystal reminds me of a fic I recently read - a HP fic where Hermione got involved in a pen-pal program and her pen-pal sent her a crystal rose for her birthday.

Still, yes, that crystal - given that it would be in Cybertronian proportions - would be an effective missile. My big curiosity is whether the Cybertronian Tuxedo Mask keeps his own miniature garden, and that's where he gets his crystals from.
