I really liked sharing with people before what I was reading. It worked well in a former post, and it really makes me feel like I am making progress. So, here is what i have read since March 2007: ( More on What I am reading...let's discuss )
I was planning to make this a monthly thing, too. I only count things that I have read entirely so it helps me finish books instead of leaving the last chapter for later.
Do you have a favorite of what you've read this month?
DoVeanna Fulton's text was pretty good. I like when people look into resistance that is happening in places that we do not see it.
I actually too have enjoyed reading Nietzsche. I do not agree with him on a lot of things, however, he is a good writer. I felt the same way reading Machiavelli.
Hegel was the hardest to read and then after that Marx.
I am a fast reader! i never really knew i was a fast reader until i started reading fiction. I am still not a fan of fiction, however, i feel so accomplished that it takes me about a day or two-tops! to read a fiction book.
I am not sure. I know it was edited/compiled by David Wooton. No matter what, we have to take in to consideration Elizabeth Forster Nietzsche's editing of it. Thus, it is just part of a conversation, not necessarily something to base our entire ethos off of. Foucault is much better.
As far as I am aware Nietzsche published beyond good and evil before his collapse so his sister shouldn't have had anything to do with it (maybe I'm wrong) Anyway, I am currently reading Beyond Good & Evil. I have the R.J. Hollingdale translation. Supposedly Walter Kaufman's translations are the best. I plan on reading Beyond good & evil, genealogy of morals and the gay science between now and the beginning of the summer session.
P.S. I have a copy of Power/Knowledge if you want to borrow it.
