Even Dubya coulda picked a better Bond. *growls and stomps off*

No, really, wtf?

Craig's predecessor as Bond, Pierce Brosnan, 52, said he was "gutted" to have lost the role after four outings as the secret agent. He also said he would love to resume the role if Craig's version proved to be a flop ( Read more... )

Film makers are systematically destroying beloved fictional icons one by one. At least the new Superman is attractive. This guy looks like he gets shot down at his local pub.

Thinking of you today. *smile*

And the new Superman looks like...well, Superman! AND Clark Kent! (And I'm really glad they picked a non-huge-name person for it!)

At least he does look like Supes, albeit a bit young if he's supposed to be the same Superman (Reeve looked older when he did those movies).

Chris Reeve was also a relative unknown when they picked him to do the role. In general, iconic characters need either unknowns, or a character actor who happens to have a "persona" that fits the icon.

I am quite amused that (1) you have a ready list of your top 5 fave fictional British men and (2) someone managed to convince you that Dame Dench was dead.

Yeah, that was when I conclusively decided she's alive. Well, that and the fact that she's going to be in the next Bond movie.

That is seriously more F than WT!

I hated PB as Bond, mainly because he was far too metro for my taste...and now they spring this guy on us?

James Bond is dead. Seriously.

How could you call Remington Steele metro? *pouts*

I wouldn't call Remington Steel metro...but... sgtkane March 2 2006, 19:26:58 UTC
Dante's Peak, Entangled, Love Affair, The Mirror Has Two Faces, even in Robinson Crusoe he was metro...and thats darn hard to do.

If you read the books, Bond was metro before there was metro. Still, I think he died when Connery stopped playing him.
