I feel bad about how the weekend went, bc so many people were so helpful, it must be my fault it went wrong. Fri night, we drove to the Daks, stopping at Poughkeepsie EMS where a hurried, but helpful, then concerned employee showed us the only map they had of Mt. Marcy and sold us a poncho bc I forgot my rain shell in Manhattan (I think). We

This post made me smile. Not because of the thwarted attempts at hiking, nor your being sick, but because my parents honeymooned at Mt. Marcy and it was where they went for their first trip alone together after having three kids. Mt. Marcy and its bears are part of my family's legends, even though I've never been myself. I hope ours feeling better than you were. Take care of yourself!
