Poll A Ticky Box Production

Don't make me regret the ticky boxes (i.e. only pick none of the above if you're not voting for any of them).

poll, meta, paranoia, politics

Of course, I think my evidence for the disappointment in journalism would be different that what Instapundit would pull. So if both sides are irritated at the media, does that mean they are doing it right?

And my twitter is just for following people. Tried it for a while and couldn't be bothered.

No, it means that no matter how conservative or jingoist media is trending, conservatives still claim the media is liberal as a matter of policy.

I'm not aware of Angelina Jolie having done anything non-acting related (and non-adopting children related) - has she?

And 100x yes to the flu shot. I tried to get people I know to get it too, but I think now they're limiting it to high-risk only.

She's done quite a bit of humanitarian work with refugees in Africa and Asia; enough that she was named a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador.

See, as someone who hasn't gotten the flu in years but who has heard stories of people getting sick from the vaccine, I made the decision not to get the shot when they were offering it at work.

You do realize that if you're going to put ticky boxes, one of the options must be "ticky box"?

I mean, it's traditional.

You wouldn't want to go against tradition, would you?

[too late now, but you've been chastised]

I prefer better camouflage for my 'ticky box' option.

Ugh, I was nearly too depressed to respond to the first question. I am pretty much convinced that journalism-as-business at this point is (no matter how you do it) mostly non-viable. Also, I blame the internet (not because it breaks the journalism revenue model but because it is a powerful and mostly-toxic enabler of groupthink), but a justification of that statement is going to have to wait for another day. With respect to the second "who would you prefer as President," I answered in an imaginary universe in which all of the options were still alive and, in truth, I don't remember enough about Kemp to know whether I favor him over Bentsen - but I know that Galbraith hated Bentsen and that certainly gets him credit in my book. The Nobel Prize committee is on crack but I think there was ample evidence of this before they gave the Peace Prize to Obama. Flu shot? Yes please! I've gotten the seasonal vaccine and will get the H1N1 vaccine when and if it becomes generally available (I will not commit fraud in order to get it while I ( ... )

I would like to specify that I like Kemp and Bentsen only because they are dead.

Unfortunately, that would allow Congress to pass laws without even the weak restraint offered by the occasional Presidential veto. However, it is a satisfying thought.

I'm willing to have a Congress made up of Dead Guys too. It should balance out.

Can we pick the Dead Guys? Cuz I want Daniel Webster and the one who whacked the other one on the head and and and!
