Alegria was disappointing. There was too much of the bits that feel like filler; this may be bc I don't like clowns, although the Alegria clowns were very good and I enjoyed one of their acts very much. ( Read more... )

"O" is indeed the one with all the underwater stuff. I saw it a bunch of years ago (I think it was 2000, I was in Las Vegas for Defcon - lord only knows what made me do that) and was very impressed.

Alegria was the first Cirque show I ever saw, and I was so unimpressed that it actually turned me off of seeing other productions for a few years. The acts (which have probably totally changed by now, its been so long) were okay but not great, and there seemed to be quite a few characters who had the sole purpose of wandering on during an act, posing blankly in the background, and then wandering off again.

I'm sorry that it sucked. At least you found that you are good at it and know the relevant material, rather than that you're hopelessly bad at it and can't do it at all.
