Though Match Point isn't an "upper," it's still an enjoyable movie, IMO. I absolutely loved it; it's *definitely* worth seeing.

What People do you hate in Brokeback Mountain??

I hate "People" in general - the "Unwashed Masses," if I want to sound like a total snob. I just have this fear of having my movie experience ruined by some asshole who didn't know what the movie was about before he bought his ticket. I know that's pretty irrational, especially if I see at the independent place down the street, but...it's still there.

What's really pulling me towards Match Point is that I keep hearing that it's very noir-ish. Is it?

Ahh, okay, I get it now. It's gotten so much publicity though, especially with the GG wins, that it really seems like that wouldn't be much of a problem now.

I suppose Match Point is somewhat noir-ish, though not totally...I can't really say more without giving away the movie. It's very shiny, pretty, and sexy, though, which is always nice;)

Shiny, pretty, and sexy certainly doesn't suck.

And you'd think that the GG wins would help make people, you know, less stupid. But I'm not banking on it.

I can't believe you dissed Underworld!

Otherwise, I'd say Brokeback Mountain. That's the other one I want to try to see this weekend.

Hee! I really REALLY hated the first Underworld. Or maybe I wasn't drunk enough. The new Underworld will probably be Netflixed and watched on mute with a large quantity of liquor.

Me too! Unfortunately, Marshall loved it, so I'm being dragged to the sequal. Maybe I'll bring a flask.

I have the "People" fear a little bit too for Brokeback Mountain, but I live in the Land of the Gay, so it's probably irrational.

I voted for Glory Road b/c I've heard good things about it, and I know you're a sucker for uplifting sports movies. :-)

You should totally totally take a flask.

And you're right about the uplifting sports movies, thing. I've got an icon from Miracle around here somewhere...

I voted Glory Road. It looks like Remember the Titans with basketball!

That...might not even be in Denver anymore. I'll have to check it out.

Aw, I still sort of love Colin. Maybe that's just because he and my dad have a friend in common and I'm holding out the hope that I'll meet him someday.

Hey, no one's ever accused me of being rational.
