Due to the incompetence stupidity actions of our condo's management company, the apartment complex has never had new roofs installed on any of the five buildings. Which, you know, is probably not a good idea, considering the buildings are about 25 years old and prone to hurricanes every few years. During Hurricane Wilma last October, we lost some ( Read more... )

I think only one private company might accept us...If they don't, we have to go with the state's madly expensive coverage. Gah. Since we live on the second floor, flood coverage isn't extremely important, but the condo association demands that every unit has it. And, now, on top of the new roof, we have to get a new washer and dryer. The house is falling apart! Damn you, house!

OMG, that's all sorts of sucky! My parents had the prob with the insurance, too. I totally don't think it should be allowed. I mean, charging more would be one thing, but denying it is quite another. I'm sorry, dude. BTW, what are you plans for next year? You grad schooling? I hope it all gets settled and improves and stuff... Best of luck!

Bastards! Insurance companies really do suck. I agree that they shouldn't be allowed to drop people like that, too. My plans for the next year are to get a job and hopefully volunteer for a political campaign (until November, anyway). I'm hoping to go back to grad school in the fall of 2007. What about you?

so you are taking a year off? why did you make that choice? Where do you want to go for grad school? Best of luck. According to my dad, it will be about $1200 per year or something that was twice was it was before, to get the insurance for the house, but yeah, lots of suckage... And the old insurance doesn't want to cover fixing the damages to our house:-( I have no idea, but I hope they rot!
