Fanbullying redux 4

I had hoped to space this stuff out so as not to look COMPLETELY obsessed, but now someone's gone and reserved the other books I borrowed as well - they must be writing their thesis on it or something. Anyway, I have to take a bunch of notes from them pretty much now.

I find it funny that you are writing all this out while I am in a rather heated discussion about, according to the writer, how stupid I am for making fleece and foam puppets in the style of the Muppets. A couple of the hand and rod artists are trying to be rational with this git but he is bound and determined to make each and everyone of us feel like scum for enjoying our form of puppetry (he's a string artist who's bookings have gone down the drain).

The what now?

Sounds like serious entitlement issues combined with lack of patience. So string-puppetry is out of fashion. This too shall pass. Puppetry as a whole isn't exactly 'in' unless you're fond of "Avenue Q". But it shouldn't be about foam v. strings, it should be about being passionate about good puppeteering of any kind.

I read this and thought about your research. And fandom in general.

Thanks for the link. Fortuny exemplifies the bully who refuses to take responsibility for their actions, and instead blaming their targets.
