The corrollary to 'Faith, not Works' is that if you have actual faith you'll do good works anyway. It's a reaction to the prevailing attitude in Catholic Europe at the time that one could buy his way into heaven.

I really hate prosperity Christians. "I'm rich, so God must favour me". Not, it probably means you screwed everyone you've ever know since you were two to get ahead.

of course, as a Pagan, i believe that what a person does is far more important than what's going on inside their head that inspires them to do it. i've known quite a few agnostics and atheists (like xanthian_kpd) who have put a great amount of effort into helping their fellow human beings and trying to make the world better in general. furthermore, it strikes me as rankest hypocrisy when someone claims to believe in a faith that teaches kindness, charity, and simple living, but fails to "walk their talk".
