Gobsmacked to learn that a Queensland woman and her partner have been charged with a crime for obtaining a medical abortion (that is, using a medication rather than surgery). Not an Australian, so my voice wouldn't count for much; but yes, this policy makes nooooo sense. Making sure there are adequate warnings against the possible health risks of the drug is one thing; actually criminalizing those who take it? Grief. You're right, it's a scare-tactic.
