Summary: Number 24 in
table; Alex is a tease, but Gabe fixes Jack.
Disclaimer: I don't own them.
Jack's drunk and he's sick of Alex's games. Alex, though, is just getting started.
“Jacko, come dance with me,” Alex whispered, nuzzling his face into Jack’s hair. Alex is positioned perfectly in Jack’s lap, so that it’s turning Jack on, but not enough to actually get a rise from him.
“I don’t wanna,” Jack mumbled.
“Jacky," Alex whined. Jack ignored him, so Alex took a different approach, "Come on.” He smiled alluringly, ignoring Jack's protest, and leading him to the dance floor.
“Alex, I don’t-“
“Shh,” Alex whispered softly, pressing a finger to Jack’s lips. Jack moved his head back as he bit inside his lip, resisting Alex’s charm. He knew; knew that even if he let Alex charm him he wouldn’t get anywhere. Alex would flirt and dance and grind against Jack all night long, but tomorrow it’d be like nothing had happened.
Jack had tried to kiss Alex once. Jack had been sober, but Alex hadn’t. He swayed on the spot and turned around to dance with his back pressed against Jack’s front. Jack, though hurt from the rejection, kept dancing with him. Just like always.
"Alexander!" Jack heard behind him. Alex, who had been dancing with his back pressed up against Jack's front just like that one night, didn't stop dancing, but instead turned around and flung his arm around Jack's neck, resting his chin on Jack's shoulder as their hips swayed together.
"Gabriel!" Alex cheered back.
"I thought I heard your alluring tones," the other man teased. Jack took advantage of Alex's distraction and nuzzled into the boys neck, resting his face among the dark hair, against the warm skin.
"I'm always here," Alex said, stopping because he seemed to have forgotten the name of the man. Jack, not quite as drunk as Alex, found this a bit funny seeing as he had just shouted his name in Jack's ear.
“Another victim, I suppose?” Gabe said in, what Jack guesses is, a conversational tone.
"Na, man, this is just Jack!" he replies, shouting Jack's name as he spins him around to show Gabe. Jack's heart drops because he's 'just Jack' and he thinks Gabriel notices, so he plasters a smile on his face, nodding a greeting to the tall man.
"Hey, man," Gabe says, not quite yelling like everyone else. Alex notices Oli enter the club and immediately wants to drag him out to the dance floor too. Gabriel notices that too. "Alexander, mind if I borrow this boy for a while?" he asks, saving Jack from being left on the dance floor.
"What? Oh, yea. . . sure." He nudges Jack towards Gabe and takes off towards Oli. Gabe wraps his arms around Jack's neck and pulls him close, attaching their hips immediately.
"You didn't have to do that," Jack mumbled, knowing Gabe had been trying to save him. "I'm used to-"
"Stop," Gabe instructed softly, tilting his head so he could look into Jack's eyes. "You deserve better than him."
"I don't even have him," Jack said instantly. He bit his lip and, after a moment, pulled back. Gabe didn't let him though. "You don't even know me," Jack sighed, deciding that is what he should of said in the first place.
"You're Jack," he whispered. "You have an insane crush thing going on with Alex, though he treats you like a toy. He knows it too. He knows you like him & he knows how bad he treats you. Hell, he won't even let you get anywhere, will he?"
Jack bit his lip, starving off the tears, and nodded carefully. "It's not fair, Jack," Gabe whispered, his face leaning closer, so Jack could hear him. "You deserve better," he repeated.
Jack nodded again, this time with a tad more confidence. This man, Gabriel, was right. Only, Jack didn't know where he would find better. Fuck, it'd taken him seven something years just to 'find' Alex.
He felt Gabriel's breath mixing with his own and looked up to the dark eyes watching him intently.
"Oh," Jack uttered in realization. "Hey," he said faintly.
A flicker of a smile pulled at Gabe's lips as he leaned even closer to Jack. The smile on Jack's face, though, was quite obvious as their lips collided because he'd just found 'better' and he didn't plan on letting it go anytime soon.
