What eyes they have. You really don't want to be the subject of that level gaze. Apparently there's a wolf pack in the area where I live. I've heard coyotes sometimes at night and early morning, but not wolves.

They do kill dogs and so do coyotes. Even eagles take small dogs and cats. An outdoor cat has pretty good (bad) chances of being attacked by an eagle or coyote. The coyotes lure off leash dogs away from owners with offers to play and then the pack turns on the dog. Cunning and dangerous creatures. I've heard about a black wolf that's been seen in areas all around me, some quite close to my house, but as I say, I've never heard any. It would be quite cool to hear them howling at night though a bit intimidating. I've never heard of them going after a human though, thank goodness. Cougars sometimes do and they're around, even in suburban areas that are next to wilderness.
