I love stock icons. I've never done any myself so I tried my hand at making a few. I started a new section on HLC called The Stock Yard just for them, even though I only have 15 so far. You can check them out here. I'm sure I'll be making tons more.

Amy s.,

Do you have your Aaron Sorkin comm up yet? I haven't seen it ...

Just today I was thinking about how freaking smart you'd have to be to write The West Wing,/i> or Sports Night.

As usual, my ignorance shines through. What is a 'stock' icon? Is it one not associated with a fandom, like my default icon? These are very pretty. I love the big red California poppies in a field I grow those poppies in a corner of my yard. There's something so raw and sexual about the way their petals fall open revealing that black 'eye' in the center. God, I love biology and science. It's SUCH a turn on.

Stock icons are icons made from stock images, which are images sold for commercial use... things like food, nature, animals, random objects, etc. they can be anything from a coffee cup to a tv set, a plate, a crayon... anything you can imagine, as random as it gets. they have nothing to do with tv, movies or fandom in any way. they're used mostly in advertising, so you'll find lots of business stock icons-- desks, globes, money symbols, people in an office having a conversation...anything that promotes business or a business website. i've used them for years in my webdesign business ( ... )
