Previously for the Baruch family: The twins transitioned into adulthood, their birthday being a
roof raiser despite their mother
dying. Aaron and Opal discovered they were expecting and
wed, and Rina’s boyfriend
Peter Simpson moved in and much to Nicholas’ relief, took over his responsibilities for providing medical care for Newhaven. Nicholas then passed away peacefully but not before
meeting his granddaughter who was named Nichola in his honour.
Little Nichola certainly didn’t lack for attention, especially from her Aunty Rina. After achieving her dream of reaching the top of the education career, Rina felt ready to begin a family of her own.
Luckily her boyfriend got the hint and proposed. She happily obliged.
It seemed Peter wouldn’t be the only new member of the family as not long before Nichola’s birthday, Opal discovered she was expecting one again.
Nichola grew into a sweet and conscientious young girl who seemed to inherit her parent’s love of learning.
She had no trouble making friends at school and often had classmates come home with her. They all thought her dad had the coolest job in the world.
On the morning of Rina’s wedding, Opal went into labour.
By the time the guests started arriving, the household wasn’t ready yet as they had been too caught up in meeting the newest additions.
Their guests understood the delay and patiently waited while they finished getting ready.
The ceremony, once it finally began, was lovely.
Afterwards Opal and Aaron went and checked on their new daughter Hazel, and son, Ezra. Their two infants were proving to be very calm and contented.
Nichola thought that it had been the best day ever, with a wedding, and not one, but two babies.
Rina assured her that when she grew up, if she wanted, she could have it too.
After the wedding, life returned to normal, with the stinky nappies, of not one, but two babies.
They had a helping hand in the form of their family though, especially Peter who had never had much experience with babies and was hoping to get the practice in before he became a father.
It turned out he was going to a father soon than he expected when Rina discovered she was pregnant. The newlyweds moved into their own place meaning it was a smaller family gathering when Hazel and Ezra became toddlers.
The following time flew by as the busy family fell into a routine of work, school and caring for the twins.
This included toilet training.
A lot of toilet training!
It seemed in no time the twins were celebrating their birthdays again and would be joining their older sister at school.
The twins were incredibly similar, especially in personality, with Hazel (7/3/10/3/10) only being the teeniest bit more outgoing that her brother Ezra (7/2/10/3/10). It was probably due to this that despite now being at school with their sister, mostly chose to spend time with each other.
What all three children did have in common though was being extraordinarily active. This made trying to get the three to sit down together for a photo a struggle to say the least.
