In game I’ve actually reached the beginning of Week Nine, so expect a few updates as I catch up with actually posting!
The Brandon family were also the recipients of a new house after the road glitch of Week 6.
The kitchen and dining table were still the centre of the home, and Gwen still made sure the family were brought together at least once a day despite how quickly her boys were growing up.
Castor was still quickly rising through the political ranks and still had his dreams firmly cemented on becoming the next Mayor of Newhaven. As much as he valued Augustus Charles as a friend, he firmly believed he would make a much better leader for their town, and was determined to prove he was the better candidate.
But just when he had the upper hand in the political race, a bad decision saw him demoted. He certainly wasn’t out of the competition by any means, he was just back at the same level as his opposition Augustus.
Pollux on the other hand had been quiet after finishing school, studying and devoting many hours to practicing ballet. He still held dreams of becoming a world class ballet dancer, and his brother reminded him that when he became mayor he would build his brother a performance venue.
Pollux assured his brother it wasn’t all bad, after all, not working had allowed him to spend time with his now girlfriend Crystal.
After all, socialising was something his more outgoing twin had always been more natural at, something that was very apparent at their shared birthday party as Castor schmoozed his way around the gathering.
While the main function of the formal event was to celebrate Castor and Pollux becoming adults, Castor definitely saw the opportunity to demonstrate his suitability for the role of Mayor.
His cause was helped by his contender having several drinks, loosening his tie and losing his shoes rather early in the night.
But while his twin was using the party to further his career, Pollux celebrated with the woman he loved.
Crystal Spitzig was a sweet natured girl with a traditional upbringing who wanted nothing more than a family of her own. Pollux asked her to move in knowing, and respecting, her position of no woohoo before marriage. But so overjoyed at his proposal, and appreciative of his patience, she decided to give him a very special birthday gift, despite what her parents would have thought.
Castor’s girlfriend Ziva on the other hand was very, ah, romantic, by nature and had given her boyfriend that gift quiet some time ago. Once he’d celebrated his birthday she pretty much just told him she was moving in, as things were getting way too crowded at her house.
Before long though, it appeared this household was going to grow too when Crystal discovered she was pregnant. Her traditional upbringing meant she had never been prepared to find herself expecting a baby outside of marriage and the news came as a shock to her.
Pollux though couldn’t have been more excited by the news, and dropping to his knee, proposed marriage. He assured her he had been wanting to for a while but had just been waiting for the right moment. Crystal accepted and the two exchanged vows straight away becoming husband and wife.
Much to her relief Crystal found support and guidance in Gwen who adored both the women in her sons’ lives. She felt their choices complimented their different personalities and was pleased to know that Castor and Pollux would have strong women behind them when she was no longer around.
