It's a telenovela! Having never played the PV drama, I'm having a hard time figuring why everybody accepts all of this :D But from the other comments, those who know the protagonists better than I do don't seem surprised at all.

Ooh, you should give PV a go, it's addictive, and very much a telenovela ;) And yeah, Don is set up in romantic relationships with three premades (Cassandra, and Nina and Dina who are sisters!) and the NPC maid Kaylynn. If you play the Goth house first, it guides you to get Cassandra and Don married, but Don will actually leave her at the altar. I think it's the "OMG I can't do this face," that leaves everyone thinking he's just too weak to have said no before this point.

Ha ha, maxis can't fool us "late" sim players: I discovered the Sims after the last Ep was already out, and by now, we know better than to propose to Don or invite Tybalt and Mercutio at the same party on day one ^^
Ah, well that explains the baby Alex showed up with, he wasn't just trying to "fix" things for his wife, but what awful timing! Evil Dina is quite the compelling angle but what tragedy she's leaving in her wake. Poor Cassandra. While not mutually exclusive, I'd take 'selfish bastard Don' over 'spineless Don' any day; he's tended to wreak far less inadvertent havoc that way.
(Gotta get some sleep but I'm hooked! Knew I would be.)
