Although, both personally and professionally, I think virtual worlds in general have lots of potential to transform the way people and businesses interact with the net, as a totally addicted SL user I'd just as soon (at least in some moods) that SL itself remained a relatively obscure haven for a few hundred thousand eccentrics, early adopters, creatives, rabid hair-shoppers, ambiguously gendered, unusually intelligent and/or fascinating, weirdos (weirdoes?). Even once all the VWs are connected into One Big Multiverse, I'd love to see SL remain, although connected, still sort of strange and chaotic and different. Maybe sort of like, I don't know, the Well is to the Web.

But anyway, for now, yay obscurity! :)
