Tuesday night I got a chance to sit down with SnappyTom Silverspar and December Jewell, a Second Life couple I know through meeting December on an exploration not many weeks ago. December and Tom have been partnered in Second Life for almost a year - but unlike most Second Life partners, their virtual romance has blossomed into a First Life

I'm very happy for them. :) It's so sweet to see a nice relationship forming online -- honestly, it seems like too few people take the possibilities of online relationships (friendships or romances) seriously. I myself care quite a lot for the friends I make online! :)

I think that most of us with any SL experience under our belts would agree that time spent chatting with someone in our special world gets condensed in a frightening way. Someone can become your best friend within a week, and relationships of a month or more can feel as though you've been with that partner forever. And there seems to be so many fewer boundaries on sharing thoughts and feelings...after all, what have you got to lose?I hope I'll be able to adjust to the RL paradigm when we switch! December Jewell
