An alliance of friendly clubs and hangouts?

I wondered what you all, particularly venue owners of certain venues out there, might think about an idea I had to help promote friendly clubs and hangouts in Second Life. It wouldn't be for everyone, but I was thinking that it might be really helpful to band together and find more ways to reach people and get the word out about all of the neat

I really like this idea a lot! What you described up there fits perfectly both of the places I manage, Timeless Spotlight and Timeless Underground.

I haven't been able to figure out the best ways to reach the people that are just looking for good company and music without all the flash of sploders/camping/sexy dancers. This sounds like a great start.

We would be very interested in participating in something like this, our club is exactly as you describe. ( Although we plug our store every so often at the club because the store / club are what we do )

Club Pulse is other than that, exactly like you describe. I have been trying to brainstorm on a way to reach people who are looking for our kind of club as well.

What if we made a group specifically for this, kinda like Fashion Consolidated?

Kally, Seven Shikami and Eris Fallon also made good points about not being too worried about a little commerce mixed in, so I think we'll definitely go in the direction of not worrying about a little commerce as long as it's not a place where someone goes and feels pressured to give money.

And I definitely think a group's the way to go! Can you let me know your Second Life name? I'll invite you to the first meeting. :)

Even if a group sounds like a good idea, I am afraid there are too much groups around already.

Why don't you create a kind of directory, with a tp/landmark for the next similar place... for example, imagine five Stargate-like portals, one of them driving you to the next relax club, other to the next park, etc.

Once you tp, you can choose between staying, or take the same gate to port to the next selected place.

Btw, if you make any physical initiative about your idea, feel free to put it in front of the shop, since it is the TP point of Pandora's Peace... (so it is good that you decided to raise your hand about comertial places :-p).

Oh, for now I'm not talking about a group for the people who attend hon: it's a group for the venue owners. :)

Seven Shikami devised a plan for a truly great little kiosk that will let people preview all of the locations in the group, view their schedules, and teleport to any one they want. I think it will help all of the venues involved!

Quantum Tribe Laboratories. That's my usual dance hangout, and I think they fit the bill nicely for what you're suggesting. The only problem is, they keep changing where the dance floor is, much to my periodic frustration.

Thanks, CyFishy! Seven made up a very, very nifty kiosk and demonstrated it the other night, and we should be rolling it out and beginning to add venues soon. We'll go visit and get in touch with QT. :)
