This is the first election I can remember winning, between being from a red state and not having known much about politics before 2000 (as there was not as much rage in my house under Clinton).

*blink blink* I refused to speak to you? If so, I don't remember this. In any case, that wasn't bitterness, it was anger. You don't have any reason to be upset with the Democrats yet-- I certainly already had many for hating Bush.

I don't see how you can say that "America was going to lose" no matter who won the election. Giving up on our political system seems to equate to giving up on improving the country-- and while admittedly the Democrats aren't perfect, you shouldn't assume that it's impossible to fix the system and the nation.

Besides, I have a feeling that you wouldn't sound nearly so fatalistic if, say, Blackwell had won the governorship in Ohio, or Republicans had kept Congress--- despite your "either party is bad" rhetoric.
